Disney Junior comes to South Africa!

The Walt Disney Company South Africa launched a brand new channel today called Disney Junior.
Disney Junior is aimed at children 2 – 7 and their families and features shows such as Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Special Agent Oso and Handy Manny. It competes with other kids broadcast channels such as CBB’s, Nickelodeon, KidsCo, & Cartoon Network, not to mention the original Disney channel. However, not all channels cater for the younger age segment and parents can breathe a sigh of relief that their kids are less susceptible to the likes of Ben Ten Aliens and Barbie flicks.
“Disney is a high-quality brand entertainment that is unrivalled in the media entertainment sector, and we are glad to join hands with DStv to launch this channel today in SA and Africa,” Walt Disney Company country manager Africa, Christine Service, said
Disney is fairly unrivalled in its segment, but what makes them smart is the diversification of age segments. Something most other networks are blending together in aim of selling a one stop shop. The biggest, may still be the best!
